Giant transient neonatal pustular melanosis
You are correct. Transient neonatal pustular melanosis (TNPM) occurs more commonly in dark-skinned infants and is characterized by small pustules (0.3–0.5 cm) on a nonerythematous base. Pustules rupture and pigmented macules develop with surrounding collarettes of scales that may persist for weeks to months. Lesions are mostly located over the forehead, neck, and lower back, but occasionally palms and soles may be involved. TNPM is self-limited and no treatment is required. Parents should be reassured about the benign nature of the condition.
