The National Cancer Institute's 2-pg fact sheet on external beam radiation therapy explains the steps involved during this common cancer treatment, encourages patients to ask their clinician about potential side effects, and assuages patients' possible concerns about pain and/or radioactivity.  Information on treatment duration, preparatory and follow-up tests and procedures, and what to wear during treatment are also included. Available as tear pads (50 sheets per pad) in English and Spanish.
