Key Points
Annual vaccination is the best prevention. Chemoprophylaxis generally not recommended if >48h since exposure. Routine chemoprophylaxis not recommended (except as one of multiple interventions to control institutional flu outbreaks). If indicated, give chemoprophylaxis for duration of exposure to person w/ influenza and for 7 days after last exposure.
